Creating a future-focused brand identity for Bayer’s Global Science Forum to elevate scientific exchange

Read case study

Challenge

Bayer sought to establish the Global Science Forum, a high-profile platform bringing together top scientific experts to discuss groundbreaking medical research. More than just a series of events, the forum needed to position Bayer as a leader in advancing medical science beyond its products, fostering collaboration between key opinion leaders (KOLs) and rising stars in clinical research.

The identity had to strike a balance—progressive and forward-thinking, yet scientifically grounded. It needed to be neutral across therapeutic areas while remaining memorable, exclusive, and engaging, reflecting the VIP, invite-only nature of the forum. Additionally, the system had to be adaptable, accommodating multiple tiers of membership and various event formats, including virtual, hybrid, and in-person sessions.

Approach

Drawing inspiration from technology and science, we developed a modern, digital-first identity that captured the essence of innovation and exclusivity.

  • A dynamic brand system blending technical typography, fundamental shapes, and structured patterns to create a futuristic yet credible look.

  • A modular colour and shape system, visually differentiating key forum activities:
    — Seminar sessions
    — Learning and networking opportunities
    — Special events

  • A flexible logo structure, aligning with Bayer’s corporate identity while adapting seamlessly across digital platforms, presentations, and event materials.

  • Strategic use of exclusivity cues, reinforcing the club-like essence of the forum and its tiered access model—mirroring concepts seen in high-status professional networks.

To enhance engagement, we explored ways to elevate the attendee experience, including physical welcome kits, biometric devices for session access, and other VIP perks that would reinforce the premium nature of the forum.

impact

The Global Science Forum brand identity established an instantly recognisable and cohesive visual presence, positioning it as an exclusive, high-calibre platform for scientific exchange.

  • A visually distinct yet scientifically grounded identity, resonating with both seasoned experts and emerging thought leaders.

  • Clear differentiation across forum activities, ensuring an intuitive and engaging experience for participants.

  • Seamless adaptation across digital and physical event formats, future-proofing the brand for ongoing and evolving scientific discussions.

By creating a memorable and high-class identity, Bayer successfully launched a forum that not only complements its medical research initiatives but also strengthens its reputation as a leader in fostering scientific progress.
